ChemCentral Rock Hall

Opening Summer of 2025!

Set up your ChemCentral account before then. Fill out our Account Activation Smartsheet and we will take care of the rest!

Location

Our newest ChemCentral location will be opening up Summer of 2025 in Rock Hall located at the Mission Bay Campus. This location will provide chemical receiving for Rock Hall. Our chemical receiving room will also be the pick up location for any chemicals we receive and will be located at RH147. There will also be a limited option for purchasing. We will only have Ethanol 200 Proof (Product #: TX89125-172SFU) available to pick up after placing a pick up order through our online system.

Access

Our program manager will grant access to RH147 to all Rock Hall researchers that are currently part of a chemical inventory. This will take place closer to opening day. If you still do not have access, fill out our SmartSheet form and we will be able to grant access within 24 hours.

Chemical Receiving

All hazardous chemicals for the Rock Hall building will be centrally received and inventoried by our staff in Room RH147. This room will also be the pickup location for any chemicals received by us. We will reach out to whomever the package was addressed for after we inventory it. The receiver is responsible for physically moving the chemical from the pick up area to the proper storage location (i.e. flammable cabinet). From there, the researcher will have to accept the "Pending Transfer" in Chemicals. Down below is our guide with instructions on how to do so.

ChemCentral Accepting Transfers Guide

Chemicals bought through BearBuy with the commodity code 0025 - hazardous chemicals will have the ship-to address for that line automatically changed and rerouted to our ChemCentral address and room during the checkout process. Once the chemical arrives, it will be unpackaged, tagged and inventoried and all excess shipping material will be tossed saving researchers time by taking care of these extra steps for them.

We can also help remove chemicals from lab's inventories. RFID inventory tags from spent chemicals can be returned to the stockroom in our "Used Inventory Tags" container for ChemCentral Staff to remove from their inventory.

Purchasing

ChemCentral account must be made prior so that we can process your orders and link the purchase with your lab's account and inventory information.

Purchases from the stockroom can be made through RSS Marketplace, a software suite that actively communicates with other UCSF software including Lab Hazard Assessment (LHAT) and UC Chemicals. This location will have a limited stock of only ethanol.. Also, the only option for purchase will be a pick up order. You will have to submit the order through RSS Marketplace, and our staff will contact you when your order is ready for pick up in Room RH147.
